An Easter holiday in Cornwall

by Craig Burkinshaw

Headed for Cornwall or Three Mile Beach this Easter?

Spring has truly spring here, with flora and fauna coming to life and the first hint of warmth on your back. It’s the perfect time to embrace the effortless luxury of Three Mile Beach and the glorious towans. At Three Mile Beach, mornings can start gently,  barefoot walks along the golden sands of Gwithian beach, accompanied by the sound of waves lapping the shore, a coffee on your private deck waiting at your luxury beach house. A day of adventure and fun is imminent.

For those who seeking a little adventure, Cornwall in spring is a real playground of possibilities. The coast paths and towans are always a great place to start, where every twist and turn brings a new breath-taking view. A meander along the Southwest Coast Path rewards walkers with dramatic cliffs, secret coves, and the occasional glimpse of seals basking on the rocks. Or, for a whole new perspective, take to the water. paddleboarding across St Ives Bay as the morning mist lifts is nothing short of magical, while those with a taste for more exhilaration can enjoy a surf – mastering the art of wave riding with our friends at Global Boarders.

Easter is also a time for indulgence, or sweet treats with the kids. There are plenty of places near to our home where kids can enjoy an Easter egg hunt in Cornwall. Whether that’s at local National Trust properties, or at attractions like Paradise Park, you can be sure that kids will have fun and enjoy the excitement of the holiday. You can also plot in visits to the likes of the Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan or the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth – if you need a bit of advice finding a place to hang out with kids then let us know, we can point you in the right direction.

If you are keen for a bit of culture then there’s plenty on offer, from theatre to art. We love taking in a show at the Minack Theatre in Porthcurno, or enjoying local legends Rogue Theatre‘s ‘Wild Awake’ production in Tehidy Woods, up the road form our home in Gwithian. For art lovers you can be soak in the atmosphere of the Tate Gallery in St Ives, or Leach Pottery.

Cornwall is a great place for food lovers, and this Easter you can visit some great places to eat. From the bars, restaurants and pubs of St Ives to the famed fish and chips of places like Rick Stein‘s in Padstow. We love a burger in The Hub in St Ives, or picking up some local Saffron Buns or Hot Cross Buns from any number of great bakeries nearby. You can also enjoy food at Chomp, our onsite al fresco dining option. Serving up amazing food, inspired by tastes from all over the world and served up with skill and passion.

Evenings are made for unwinding in effortless style. Curl up in the warmth of your luxury beach house,  a good book in hand and a glass of something rich and velvety within reach. Or, wrap up in a blanket and head outside, where the stars seem impossibly bright, the crisp sea air laced with salt and the lingering scent of woodsmoke. Here, time slows, and the simple pleasure of being present in the moment becomes the greatest luxury of all. Jump in your own hot tub, or warm up in your sauna – then relax into the evening, ready for more adventures tomorrow.

This Easter, let Cornwall be your escape—a place where laid-back indulgence meets untamed beauty, and every moment is designed to be savoured
